The top 10 outfits from “Bridgerton” the series

Does regencycore* fashion or regency era fashion ring a bell to you? If not, maybe corseted silhouettes, over-the-top accessories, extravagant headpieces, elbow-length gloves, floral prints, and tulle, do… Exactly, we are talking about Bridgerton. The period drama series, from Netflix, which takes place in the early 1800s, and it’s what everybody has been talking about (and obsessing about) recently! Have you seen it yet?

This drama series focuses on the Bridgerton family and shows us the competitive world of debutantes trying to find a match and all the scandals, lust, and betrayal in the court, during the Regency era in London. Among them is the anonymous, newsletter columnist, Lady Whistledown, that doesn’t let any good gossip escape. The diamond of the season Daphne Bridgerton (stared by Phoebe Dynevor) and the enchanted Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset (stared by Regé -Jean Page) are the main characters, but what we love the most is that Bridgerton is an inclusive series, where people of colour have very important roles and are great members of the court.

We must say the series outfit hype is real and we just want our own inspired period clothing pieces for Spring/Summer 2021. Last year was full of PJs, tracksuits, and loungewear, but with a new season ahead, where we hope we will be allowed to go out again, it will be the perfect excuse to dress up and bring back maximalism and glamour in true Bridgerton inspired style.

We know you can’t rock a gown or a corset to your zoom meetings, to exercise, or simply to go to the park. What you can do is integrate smaller details, cuts, silhouettes, and fabrics into your day to day looks.

Ellen Mirojnick was the costume designer behind Bridgerton’s wardrobe, with a team of 230 people, that created an unbelievably gorgeous 7,500 costume piece set for the series. If the goal was to ensure that the viewers couldn’t stop thinking about the amazing outfits and dream about being in a different era, she certainly succeeded.

So if you’re Bridgerton-obsessed and looking to take some inspo from the character’s flawless fits, elegance and extravagances, check out some of our favourite pieces below.

1. Transparent Sleeve Dress

We are madly in love with this dress, it’s simple yet full of details and a bit of lace. The pale blue fits perfectly with Daphne’s skin tone and the choker completes the vibe. For a day to day look you can opt for a shirt or a top with these kind of sleeves.

2.  Marina’s Yellow Gown

Marina’s gowns are always so elegant and this one is no exception! The colour looks so good on her skin and she looks flawless with her hair up! This yellow gown would be very wearable nowadays for a wedding, with its timeless cut and silhouette.

3.  Penelope Bright Yellow Dress

We know that this illuminating yellow is the Pantone colour of year for 2021 but the Featherington family is just obsessed with this colour! Penelope and her yellow dresses don’t always have the best relationship but this one is something! She is a beloved and awesome character, and we can’t wait to see her again in season 2.

4. Eloise Pastel Green Dress

Bridgerton family stands for pastel colour looks, and this one is gorgeous. We are dying for this collar and bow and the pastel green/peach tones! Detachable collars and bows are very in this year, as it’s the perfect top off for a look.

5. Daphne Monochromatic Blue

She wears blue more than any other colour, and really looks like an elegant and precious diamond in this pale blue dress. The little embellishments on the dress and the gloves pairing it looks so delicate! Seems like these type of gloves and beaded or embellished pieces will be the new trend for weddings.

6. Penelope Orange Look

One more citrus shade tone dress for Penelope, we just love this pattern and colour and it goes super well with her ginger hair. She’s on fire! We don’t want to spread rumours, but we are telling you that this girl will bring, for sure, some bold moves to the next season!

7. Vibrant Flower Dress

The floral patterns with vibrant colours are the way to celebrate the Spring season and Marina looks charming in her dress! Also do you know what is the so called empire waist? They are very common in Bridgerton, and you can spot it on this floral dress too. It’s the kind of dresses that are fitted just below the bust…they elongate the silhouette and are especially great for petite or plus size women who wants to redirect all the attentions from the waist line to their hips and bust.

8. Embellished Golden Dress

In Bridgerton the key to being noticed at balls and at social events are the sparkles and glitz. Daphne’s gown has got this nailed! Plus the tiara, necklace and the elbow-length gloves are the cherry on top of the cake! Beaded and embellished pieces and square necklines are making a comeback to SS 2021, who is excited to wear them?

9. Velvet Gown

This is the perfect fabric for the season we’re in. We love velvet so much and this dark blue and shiny velvet dress looks amazing! It makes Daphne looks a bit older now that she married her bae and is a sophisticated duchess.

10. Pastel Pink Gown

What a romantic look from our Miss detective Eloise! The puffy and dramatic sleeves and collar that you see in this gown (…and all over Bridgerton) are a must for the season ahead and will easily boost your looks!
